Bike & water in the region
Whether cycling or in the romantic Danube lido. Every season promises something exciting. A clear view is guaranteed here. And enjoyable relaxation too. A finely meshed network of cycle paths runs through the predominantly flat countryside. The cycle paths accompany the Danube, lead into towns and through wine-growing areas. Idyllic bathing spots can be found in the nostalgic lidos, directly on the Danube and its oxbow lakes.
On the bike
The Danube cycle path rolls downstream as swiftly as the wind. Time and again, paths branch off into the hinterland and lead into the cellar lanes, to castles and monasteries, to museums and into the towns.
The free Tullner Donauraum Wagram, Traisental and St. Pölten cycle map provides an excellent overview of all the cycle paths in the region.

Crossing to the other bank
If you want to cross to the other bank, take a trip on one of the last roller ferries on the Danube: it runs between Korneuburg and Klosterneuburg. There are further opportunities to cross the Danube at the newly built Danube bridge in Traismauer, in Tulln and at the Danube power stations in Altenwörth and Greifenstein.
River bathing in the Danube
The oxbow lakes near the Altenwörth and Greifenstein barrages offer secluded bathing spots for summer refreshment. The Aubadin Tulln is also a popular meeting place: in the middle of the 30-hectare recreational landscape around a large bathing lake with an island, there are water slides and ball courts. One of the first open-air baths in Austria is the Strombad Kritzendorf near Klosterneuburg, which was built at the beginning of the 20th century: the red historic bathing huts are reminiscent of this period.

Boating in the floodplain forest
Canoeing in the Tulln Water Park is another sporting activity. On 5 km of waterways, you can explore the branching network of waterways on a boat trip. Whether cycling, on an excursion by boat or in the romantic Danube lido: summer promises to be stimulating.
