The first summer and fall on Tulln's new Nibelungenplatz
Tulln's new Nibelungenplatz has had its first summer and has shown that the idea has worked - it has been well received in everyday life as a new inner-city place of togetherness and offers the perfect backdrop for a wide variety of events. The newly designed Nibelungenplatz became the venue for a varied program in summer and autumn. Around 7,000 people have taken part in the almost 60 public events that have taken place so far in summer and autumn.
Culture
Concerts such as the summer festival of choirs and "20 Years of Jazz Tulln", several matinees on Sunday mornings, the reopening of the Hundertwasser ship REGENTAG and a visit to the Roman ship Danuvina Alacris offered special cultural experiences in the countryside.
PLAY
The family program included bouncy castles, creative stations and much more. Several XXL play afternoons organized by the "Stadt des Miteinanders" initiative were particularly popular.

CONVIVIALITY
The Nebelspiel is a meeting place for children to play and the wooden plateaus invite people to meet, linger and chat. The "WAGRAM Wein.findet.Stadt" events organized by Wagramer Winzer and the fair breakfast organized by Weltladen Tulln offer communication and exchange.

SPORT
During a weekly outdoor sports session with Sportunion Tulln, up to 120 (!) participants rolled out their mats on the lawns of Nibelungenplatz.

KNOWLEDGE
The redesign turned an 80% sealed heat island into a 93% unsealed area, i.e. the water can seep away directly on site. It is stored in underground sponge city bodies and made directly available to the large-crowned trees. This and much more exciting information about how projects such as Nibelungenplatz can make cities more climate-friendly was provided during several guided tours. Facts and interesting facts can be read on the boards on site or on the stele to the right of the terrace.

"A place for all(s)" - video project for Nibelungenplatz in Tulln
To mark the opening of Nibelungenplatz after its extensive redesign, the video "Ein Platz für Alle(s)" was created as an artistic community project - in the spirit of the city of togetherness, initiated by Tulln citizens and supported by the municipality of Tulln. Under the direction of dance teacher Margarete Spornberger and videographer Agnes Rehor, around 120 participants from the Tulln population - 100 adults and 20 children and young people - show how they would like to use the new Nibelungenplatz in the future. The song "(Do) Ged wer (do kumt nu ana da is wer) by the Austrian band Attwenger provides the musical framework.
That was the opening party
At the grand opening party on Wednesday, June 26th, the new Nibelungenplatz received a tremendous response and showed that Tulln is now a richer place of togetherness: just over 2,000 visitors celebrated their new Nibelungenplatz with live music and artistic performances, which was officially opened by Mayor Peter Eisenschenk and Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.
